SOAR stands for ‘Strengthening the security and resilience of at-risk religious sites and communities’ programme.
We, Enhancing Faith Institutions (EFI) are the lead partner of this EU-funded project that is funded by the European Unions ISFP-2020-AG-Protect ProgrammeA key component of the programme is to advance the protection of religious sites by implementing a ‘security by design’ (SBD) concept.
Through our work with experts in this field, we have developed guidance and best practice on implementing SBD to public spaces, specifically Places of worship in Europe.This SOAR SBD App is for leadership and volunteers involved with Places of worship to select different faith buildings and challenge their knowledge on SBD by completing the different scenarios which have multiple choice questions.
As part of the app, there are opportunities after each scenario for users to upload best practices they have in their buildings as well as have access to documentation and further reading on different elements of security.
